Apply to be a Treasury Member

Applying to be a treasury member is a great way to contribute to causes that you feel called to contribute to. Before you begin make sure you understand the rules and that you can only serve as a member on 1 treasury at a time.

Treasury members are the ones that submit, debate & cast the final vote on treasury proposals such as how to allocate funds from the treasury. Treasury members are in no way the only ones who contribute to the treasury, they are just the representatives of the treasury and final decision makers.

To be a treasury member, you are required to follow and uphold all of the Treasury Code and. It is important before you apply that you understand the full Treasury Code and are prepared to uphold it if you are voted on as a Treasury Member.

Treasury Code

Required

  • ​Each Treasury has a minimum of 13 Treasury Members
  • ​Treasury Members can only serve on one treasury at a time
  • ​Each Treasury will elect a Head Treasurer to oversee the Treasury
  • ​Treasuries may allocate up to 1% of its funds each year
  • ​The first 13 Treasury Members are chosen then all new members are voted on by treasury members
  • ​Treasuries are governed by voting
  • ​All Treasury Members must vote to pass a proposal
  • ​Proposals are submitted by a Treasury Member to the Head Treasurer who will orchestrate the vote.
  • ​Proposals must be finalized upon submission to the Head Treasurer.​
  • ​All treasury members are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner within the treasury and in public life. Debates and controversy are encouraged to bring forth the best proposals although unprofessional behavior will never be tolerated. Removal as a treasury member requires a 60% vote from fellow treasury members or a MN Treasury Dictatorial Vote.
  • ​Each Treasury is independent & self governing unless violations are observed. Each treasury has a parent treasury that oversees treasury operations & verifies correct governance. 
  • ​To Add or Remove Treasury Members requires a 60% vote. 1 Year probation period is administered when a treasury member is added or removed. (No proposals, allocations) 
  • ​Treasury Meetings are orchestrated by the head treasurer and are private.

Becoming a Treasury Member is not for everyone. Each treasury has its own set of beliefs & those must align with yours or you will be unlikely to be fulfilled in this position.
Being a treasury member can require a good deal of time and energy on your part & is unlikely to reward you financially for your contribution. To be a Treasury Member, you really have to believe in what you are doing and we hope we are able to contribute to the fulfillment of your goals.
Treasury Members have the opportunity to propel change in the world and contribute to science, charity & the universe as a whole. You must feel called to contribute your time and energy to such endeavors.

What it takes

To become a Treasury Member we don't require any specific requirements other than you feel called to contribute to the specific treasury. We ask that you submit your reasons for wanting to join & any previous contributions you have made to this specific field.

We choose the first 13 Members of each treasury then after that new members are submitted to the Head Treasurer and voted on if Treasury Member Seats are available.
